Sofia Gnoli is Associate Professor at IULM University in Milan, where she teaches History of Fashion, Sociology of Events and Creative Industries Archives. She writes for Repubblica, La Stampa, Il Venerdì and Vogue Italia. Curator and scientific consultant has collaborated with the Victoria and Albert Museum for the exhibition The Glamour of Italian Fashion 1945-2014. She is consultant and author of the Enciclopedia Italiana Giovanni Treccani. Heritage expert has curated the historical archives of Valextra, Luisa Spagnoli and Federico Forquet. In 2020 she edited for the Parco del Colosseo in Rome Ephimera, a series of meetings on fashion created with the collaboration of Electa Mondadori. Among her publications: Moda. Dalla nascita della haute-couture a oggi (Carocci, 2020), L'alfabeto della moda (Carocci, 2019), Luisa Spagnoli 90 years of style (Rizzoli, 2018), Eleganza fascista (Carocci, 2017), The Origins of Italian Fashion 1900-1945 (V&A Publishing, 2014). She is on the Advisory Board of Zone Moda Journal (ZMJ).
