Simultaneous interpretation rooms

The simultaneous interpretation rooms at IULM University. The most advanced facilities at the disposal of students in the Faculty of Interpreting, Translation, and Linguistic and Cultural Studies.

The "Sergio Pautasso" simultaneous interpretation room in IULM University contains the most highly advanced equipment, put at the disposal of the students in the Faculty of Interpreting, Translation, and Linguistic and Cultural Studies by the University.

The simultaneous interpretation room is equipped with 5 booths for 10 interpreters with an individual PC Sennheiser audio conference system.   The meeting table is set up for 20 delegates with a Sennheiser audio conference system and motorised LED monitors which can be operated by the teacher or the speaker, and to which the slides for the presentation being made can be sent.

The teacher/speaker operates from a multimedia lectern with an integrated touch screen multimedia monitor from which they can manage the multimedia content, such as the presentations sent to the delegates’ table and to the interpreters’ booths.

The room is equipped with two traditional whiteboards and one interactive multimedia board with a 77” touch screen and video projector, which the teacher/speaker or delegates/students can use to interact with the material being presented and which is also duplicated on the individual LED monitors on the main meeting table.

Facilities were further enhanced in October 2013 with a new simultaneous interpretation room equipped with state-of-the-art professional multimedia supports and containing 4 two-seater booths for 8 interpreters and 22 workstations for students.
