The Facilitator: The New Profession for Business Administration and Innovation

Executive Education Course – 80 hours – Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

OVERVIEW

Programme director: Augusto F. Sylwan
Coordinator: Matteo Catullo

This programme aims to train students to become facilitators: a new profession and a great professional quality to add to your repertoire of talents, enabling you to make progress in your work and enjoy personal fulfilment.

A facilitator can be defined as a person who contributes to the structure and process of interactions in a way that helps groups function effectively and enables them to make high-quality decisions. A facilitator’s goal is to support others so that they can reach their goals. For companies that don’t want to waste any time reacting to change or meeting competitive challenges, a facilitator is already an essential part of any team—and is destined to become only more and more important.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Recent graduates, students about to graduate, expert managers or managers at the beginning of their careers, new entrepreneurs, heads of start-ups and their partners, employees in the fields of training and development and/or human resources.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

The programme sets forth the following learning objectives:

  • Understand the importance of planning in facilitation (goals, people, processes, settings, time, space…);
  • How to give and receive constructive feedback;
  • Determine our facilitation style and understand how to improve it;
  • Explore facilitation tools and methods for different industries and business applications;
  • Find out when and where a facilitator needs to intervene;
  • What are the techniques, tools and skills required;
  • How to unlock the potential of working groups.

At the conclusion of the programme students will receive a certificate of attendance issued by IULM University.

WHY SHOULD I ATTEND?

Whether a company is striving to improve its understanding of problems, make the right decisions or move in the right direction, there are so many daily situations in the business world that require a professional facilitator—and that need will only grow in the future. Moving forward, the challenge will be to train facilitators who are capable of boosting innovation, improving the way companies work and ensuring that whatever business they’re working for becomes a successful one.
