IULM University was founded in 1968 by the Fondazione Scuola Superiore per Interpreti e Traduttori, under the inspiration of Senator Carlo Bo and Professor Silvio Baridon. Today the school collaborates with the University in teaching elements of the 1st Cycle Degree Course in Interpreting and Communication and the 2nd Cycle Degree Course in Specialised Translation and Conference Interpreting.
The Fondazione IULM is a the ideal hub for bringing together the University, administration authorities and enterprises to share objectives and interests. The Foundation has its own projects and works with external operators in the fields of innovation and communication, territorial marketing, competition research, democracy and participation, research and training in health and society, cultural consumption, and institutional communication.
Managed by REAM SGR, the "Fondo Social & Human Purpose - Comparto C Campus Universitari" is the first of its kind entirely dedicated to university housing. Thanks also to contributions from the Fondazione Cariplo and Fondazione Crt, the Fund is financing the building of the Knowledge Transfer Center.
IULM Communication Management draws up communication plans for the University, deals with promotion activities and public relations, also through publishing activities. It organises congresses and exhibitions, following every stage from finding sponsors to setting up the exhibition spaces.
